the first kitties of Lucky Mutt: mystery and cami

I was so excited when Laura emailed me to say she wanted to get some photos of her beloved girls (seriously, she ADORES these two) because up until that point had Z-E-R-O experience photographing kitty-cats.  As someone who has spent minimal time with cats throughout her lifetime I was a little unsure about how this would go.  In the end, I honestly could not have asked for two better first felines.  These girls were purrrfect! (Sorry, I couldn’t pass that one up!)

Mystery was a complete diva for me.  She worked the camera showing off her long fur and gorgeous whiskers like she had been practicing for days.  Cami, however, was a little more shy than her sister.  I don’t think she was really sure what to think of my camera, so she wasn’t too keen on going where I asked.  Then, Rob got out a fishing rod with a little toy mouse on the end and that girl came out of her shell!  Cami rolled around the living room floor catching her mouse again and again, and I nearly melted into a puddle right there.

Confession time: Until this session I did not know that people let their cats outside on purpose!  Every cat I had met previously, with the exception of a couple escapees, were in-house only kitties.  When Laura asked if I wanted to try to get some photos outside I was all, “Cats? Outside?? — Heck yes I do!”  The idea that these girls will go outdoors (with supervision) and roam around the yard still blows my mind!

Laura Linhoff - I didn’t know you had this on here and I just love it. I told the kitty cats that they are famous now that they are on a photography website. So cute and thanks!
