family | thanksgiving thursday thanks

It may seem a little cliche to profess a gratefulness for family on Thanksgiving Day, but I can not think of a single thing in my life I am more thankful for today. I am so blessed to have extended families (both mine and my husband’s) whose holiday gatherings are–no matter how big, crazy, or loud–happy ones filled with love.

So, today I am thankful for the time we will spend with our families, and I will be thinking of those who are not able to join us.

However you spend your Thanksgiving Day, I hope that, you too, are able to enjoy a happy one filled with love and reflection.

Happy Thanksgiving!

i ♥ denim | [belated] thursday thanks

Fact: I’m a jeans n’ T kind of girl. I love my jeans…probably more than I should. Some girls hoard shoes and others collect handbags; I, on the other hand, have a hard time turning down a new pair of jeans.

In my opinion, a favorite pair of jeans has a certain casualness and comfort level that even the best pair of sweats or yoga pants can’t replace…and of course, the fact that dog slobber is far less noticeable on a pair of jeans (than, say, a pair of black dress pants), well, that doesn’t hurt either.

P.S. It’s been kind of an odd week here, so posting has been a little slow (er, nearly nonexistent). Thank you to everyone who’s popped in over the last few days. Blogging (including photos of more pups) should be back to a regular schedule next week.

at the dog park | life in pictures

Last Saturday, we took advantage of the absolutely amazing weather by taking a family trip to the Battle Creek dog park in Maplewood.  Let’s just say that we weren’t the only ones to come up with that plan for the afternoon.  There were so many people and dogs at the park, and Phaneuf made a point to greet every single one of them.

Admittedly, I’ve gone completely overboard with the amount of images in this post, but hopefully you’re here to see photos, so you won’t hold it against me.

Phaneuf LOVES to play with puppies.

Nothing warms my heart more than when a little kid wants to play with Phaneuf.  Inevitably she always tests their level of comfort with her by giving them a big slobbery tongue to the face.

Seriously, did you think I could show dog park photos without some butt-sniffing??

Happy weekend!

thursday thanks: warm autumn days

It has been so wonderful over the last couple of weeks to be able to enjoy some of the gorgeous Indian summer days we Minnesotans were longing for in September and October.  I guess Mother Nature has not forgotten us.

Gunnar the Energizer doggie

When fellow Twin Cities photographer, Melissa (of Melissa Oholendt Photography), and I were finalizing the details of our recent session swap, Melissa told me in an email, “I know everyone probably says this about their lab but Gunnar is CRAZY. Sweet but psychotic. Just…fair warning.”

I don’t know about psychotic:), but Gunnar was definitely a very energetic playmate!  I think it’s safe to say that he didn’t stop moving for the entirety of his session.  When we headed outside Gunnar was here…

…then over here…

…over here…

…then here again…

…’Wait, what was that smell over here?’…

…’Oh, no, I think it’s over here!’:)

All kidding aside, Gunnar’s session was an absolute blast!  I had SO much fun chasing him with my camera (actually, some may argue that my squeaker and I had a little too much fun with Gunnar).  Melissa, I hope you and Matt enjoy these photos!
