holiday mini session details

I’m so excited to break my blogging hiatus to announce the details of the upcoming holiday mini sessions! These sessions are a great opportunity to get a few images for holiday photo cards, and a chance to get a small taste of what a Lucky Mutt Photography photo session is all about. While these mini sessions cannot compare to the completely custom experience of an Everyday session, they may be the perfect option for you!

This year’s mini sessions will be held at Krueger’s Christmas Trees in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. The Krueger family’s tree farm is an amazing location, which provides a number of opportunities for you to play up (or play down) the holiday factor in your photos…and your $75 credit can be used for prints, digital files, holiday cards, and more. There are only six sessions available (for up to two pets and two people) on Saturday, November 6, so go ahead and reserve your session time now!

As always, 10% of your session fee is donated to The Pet Project.

a break in the action

I’m taking a very short blogging hiatus through the end of September while I take some time to adjust to a little schedule change life’s brought my way (more on that later). I have plenty of fun things I can’t wait to share in October–some of which will hit my newsletter friends first–so stay tuned!

In the meantime, I leave you with some fun music + dogs I’ve seen in multiple places throughout the interwebs over the last few days. Enjoy!!

home for life: doggies

I’m not going to lie. I had some major difficulties paring down the photos for this blog post, and it’s a wee bit heavy. Seriously though, these dogs from Home for Life deserve every ounce of spotlight they get (and instantly I feel bad about the 100 I left out). As I mentioned on Monday when I was showing off the kitties, the photos below were taken for Home for Life’s sponsor updates. If you have any interest in sponsoring an animal from Home for Life, please visit their website for more information. Sponsorships are a wonderful way to help Home for Life continue to provide a secure, healthy home for so many animals. Sponsor donations can be made monthly or annually, and are a great way for families and businesses to come together for a truly heartwarming cause. If you aren’t able to sponsor an animal, but would still like to help out, look over their wishlist for items that are always in need or the memorial page for information on making a one time donation in honor of a loved one or pet.

Becky Wellington - I love your photography, however, I love ALL DOG photography anytime, anywhere! I can feel thru the pictures that these animals are smiling and happy – even tho some cannot see or walk on their own. But they know they are loved and cared for and that’s all they need. Life should be that simple, thanks for the wonderful shots.

home for life: kitties

Last month I had the pleasure of spending two afternoons at Home for Life Animal Sanctuary photographing their residents for upcoming sponsor updates. Unlike most animal shelters, Home for Life provides long-term care to animals who lead quality lives, but due special needs cannot find placement in homes through traditional rescue organizations. Dogs, cats, and other pets who make their way to Home for Life literally find just that, a home for life.

As I’m sure you can imagine, many of the residents at Home for Life did not have it easy before their arrival. It is definitely a humbling experience to spend an afternoon with both the animals, who have endured such hardships, as well as the Home for Life staff who dedicate so much time and care to their hundreds of pets. Below is a handful of photos of the many cattery residents at Home for Life. If you are interested in viewing more of the facility, I encourage you to take the online tour available through Home for Life’s website.

Donna Delicato - I just received a new photo of Stormy, the wonderful cat I am sponsoring from Home for Life. I LOVE the picture. He looks wonderful. I believe you have captured the pure essence of this beautiful cat. Thank you for the work you do.

home for life: smitten kitten

I’m finding myself completely smitten with this photo of a kitty at Home for Life Animal Sanctuary. More photos of Home for Life’s amazing kitties and puppies coming next week!
