team lucky mutt | 2010 walk for animals

The Animal Humane Society’s annual Walk for Animals is almost upon us! This will be my third year (along with Phaneuf’s) participating in the Walk, and while I briefly contemplated getting a booth this year to promote my business, I’ve decided to go a different route. You see, I really love walking the Walk. I love being surrounded by thousands of dog, cat, horse, pig, goat animal lovers. Taking a stroll down the gorgeous Theodore Wirth Parkway on [what is hopefully] a gorgeous, sunny May afternoon. Seeing the street lined with old toilet bowls water dishes set outside by local residents. Such a sense of community amongst the participants–how can I give that up?

Instead, I’m taking my own approach. Rather than confining myself to a 10′x10′ tent and missing out on the action, I’ve decided to encourage the action by offering you the chance to earn a complimentary session from Lucky Mutt Photography by participating in the 2010 Walk for Animals. Are you curious?? You can find the details here.

And for your visual pleasure, a few of my favorite pictures from last year’s Walk.

That’s my girl…the pool hog.:)

And you thought I was kidding about the toilet.

Help Nutrena help pets in need | the pet project

It is no secret that I love The Pet Project. Their goals and the heart of the organization inspire me. Today, the below video from Nutrena was shared on The Pet Project Facebook page. If the video is viewed 10,000 times before April 30th, 2010, Nutrena (a division of Cargill, for the locals) will donate another truckload of food to Twin Cities pets in need.

As Kim says in the video, “The greatest thing about it is that, it’s nice to know that people are starting to recognize that pets are part of the family. You can’t address hunger in a household without addressing the entire family.” Please take 4 minutes and 16 seconds to watch this video. It will help people and pets keep moments like these a part of their lives.
