bring your pups, bring your people

I realize Mother Nature has been a bit confused about what season we’re in, but looking at the event calendar, there is no mistaking that spring is here! Lucky Mutt Photography is happy to support two upcoming events in the next few weeks.

Animal Humane Society of Minnesota’s annual Walk for Animals is coming up on Saturday, April 30. Bring your dogs, your friends, even your donkey, and raise money to help support over 35,000 companion animals in the upcoming year! For the second year in a row, Lucky Mutt Photography has put together a team of walkers to help bring awareness to all that AHS does for animals in need. Please help us by making a donation or by joining Team Lucky Mutt for the event.

On Saturday, May 7, from 1-5 pm Lucky Mutt Photography is thrilled to be joining Metropolitan Mutts and Bubbly Paws Dog Wash for the Spring Awakening Block Party at The Shops at Excelsior and Grand. Metropolitan Mutts will be showing off some of their adorable adoptable dogs looking for a loving squeeze and a forever home, and Bubbly Paws will be graciously serving free popcorn to human visitors as well as doggie beer and ice cream to the pups in attendance. Other happenings at the block party include food samplings, horse-drawn carriage rides, Music in the Park, and lots of in-store specials. Join us just outside Bubbly Paws Dog Wash for this great spring kick-off!

Join me at Deviant Art: Dispelling Myths

Looking for something to do this weekend?

Maybe something dog related?

How about something you can only see this weekend?

I’ve got you covered…

Twin Cities rescue group, A Rotta Love Plus (ARLP), is presenting their third annual art show, Deviant Art: Dispelling Myths. The show includes art pieces from over 20 local and national artists that highlight “deviant” dog breeds like pit bulls, Rottweilers, and Dobermans.

The event is free to attend, and a portion of every art piece that sells at the event will be donated to ARLP to support their efforts in rescuing these “deviant” breeds, and their amazing work getting the dogs ready to be loved (HUGE) in their forever homes.

This is my second year being involved in the art show, and it is an event I love to both participate in and attend. We are surrounded by a community of amazingly talented people, and it is so much fun to see so many fantastic pieces of doggie-art on display.

On the topic of directions, the Northrup King Building is one of those strange places that Google Maps and other GPS related devices will not get you to without getting lost and frustrated. Instead of searching for the location’s address, I suggest using the intersection of Central Ave and 14th Ave NE. From Central Ave turn West onto 14th, then take the first right and the first left…and BAM you’re there!
