  • My life. My photos. My blog

Hi there, and welcome to my blog! As a pet photographer I am truly blessed to be able to witness and capture that special bond that people have with the pets in their lives. This blog is my way of giving back a little piece of myself to those who are kind enough to welcome me into their lives and their homes. In these pages I hope to share the everyday moments, photos, and stories, from my own life, that make me tick, as well as a few beautiful images of the wonderful relationships I am asked to capture along the way.

Please feel free to plop down on the couch with a big, warm blanket before reading...I wouldn't have it any other way. -Becky

Koszi + Barley

I loved, loved, loved everything about this session. It was a beautiful October morning, a gorgeous husky + newfie (!!) mix, and my first experience photographing a horse (!!!). To top it off, watching Karlene (the owner of locally made Bedtime Bones) and Jeff interact with Koszi and Barley, warmed my heart.

Karlene, thank you so much for spending a Sunday morning with me. I can’t wait for you to see the rest of your photos–they are some that will stick with me for a very long time.

Rooney on Grand

Rooney was the winner of the Paws on Grand photo contest back in August. His photo won the hearts of everyone who helped “judge” the contest, and when we met up for his photo session, his personality won me over once again. One of Rooney’s photos (not shown here) will grace a page in The Pet Project’s upcoming 2012 calendar. I am so excited to have this little guy in the calendar, but not nearly as excited and proud as his people are! I have a feeling there may be a few calendars under the Christmas tree this year.

Sommer, Tim, and Rooney, thank you so much for your participating in our contest. I had an amazing Saturday morning with the three of you–I do believe my cheeks were hurting a little from all the giggles!

P.S. Have you ever seen such adorable puppy legs?!?

We have a winner!

I wish I could say that the more experienced I become running contests, the easier it gets to pick a winner. I’ve run photo contests and share-your-story contests, and let me tell you, there’s never a clear cut winner. In fact, there are typically a number of people (and pups) from each contest that I want to give everything away to, but, uhhh…a good business plan, that does not make.

Over the last week and a half I’ve been agonizing over which Paws on Grand attendee should get their adoreable mug in homes across the Twin Cities. Big dog or little dog? The spunky dog or the lazy mutt?? Let me tell ya, this job is fun, but it ain’t easy.

Finally, I rallied the troops (meaning I sent texts and emails out asking for more opinions), and the winner has been decided…

Rooney - Winner of The Pet Project photo contest

Congratulations to Rooney! The winner of a free photo shoot and a spot in The Pet Project‘s 2012 calendar!!

And lest you think I’m making up all of this “tough decision” business, here are a few more photos from the contest. If you’d like to see all of the competion, hop over here.

photo contest at paws on grand

Is your dog ready for his close up? Does he deserve to have his photo hanging in homes and offices around the Twin Cities??

Join me at Paws on Grand this Sunday, August 7th to enter your dog in The Pet Project’s Paws on Grand photo contest! I will be located at the Grand Avenue Business Association between Dale and St Albans taking photos for entry into this year’s photo contest. For a small donation, your dog can enter to win his or her own Grand Avenue photo session and a page in The Pet Project’s 2012 calendar!

In addition, if you are one of the first 150 guests to stop by one of The Pet Project’s booths and donate $10 or more, you will receive a PawsPort which will get you prizes and giveaways as you travel along the avenue. (Including a free entry into the photo contest!) Complete your PawsPort and enter it into our drawing to win a stay at Gunflint Lodge during a Dog Lover’s weekend as well as prizes from Grand Avenue businesses.

Don’t forget…the only way to enter into this year’s Paws on Grand photo contest is to have your pup’s photo taken at the Lucky Mutt Photography booth at 649 Grand Avenue between noon and 4pm this coming Sunday, August 4th.

Can’t wait to see you there!!

dogs of summer

Gah!! It’s August, and not only am I two weeks away from turning another year older, I can say without a doubt that I’ve neglected this blog for far too long! I’ve spent many a weekend day and evening over the last few months outside scratching bellies and getting my fill of puppy kisses all over the Twin Cities. In fact, below are just a few of the new friends I’ve had the fortune to meet this summer. As for what’s left of this too-short season, keep your eyes here for a few upcoming events, including info on how you can get your dog’s photo on the walls of homes all over the Metro!!
